Neighbourhood Learning in Deprived Communities

The Bradford District has benefited from the NLDC Programme for the past 6 years providing support to the District's VCS organizations enabling them to deliver community based learning at the heart of disadvantaged communities.

NLDC is a Skills Funding Agency (SFA) "Skills for Jobs" Programme and has 2 targets groups: people over the age of 19 years who face significant barriers accessing work or learning opportunities and the VCS groups that provide these community services.

Delivered directly by the District's VCS organisations, the NLDC Programme continually meets and exceeds the outcomes required by the SFA with over 500 community learners benefiting from activities during 2010/2011.
