About Us

Bradford and District Learning Partnership is the 'Learning Arm' of Bradford Vision and has focused specifically on roles and responsibilities where it can add most value and achieve momentum and impact quickly.

The overall role includes:

  • To agree overall strategy and actions to support learning, within the context of various Government Policies and Resources, and the local economic needs;
  • To harness the strengths of local partners in supporting the implementation of actions contributing to the strategy;
  • To co-ordinate actions to meet shared objectives; and
  • To improve coherence and cost effectiveness of investment in learning

The responsibilities are as follows:

Coordination

  • Identifying and addressing gaps in provision
  • Eliminating duplication
  • Coordinating different partner leads for different strands of activity

Meeting Targets

  • Assisting Bradford Vision to set local targets for levels of improvement in learning
  • Monitoring and publishing details of progress towards targets
  • Increasing participation in learning

Since its establishment Bradford Learning Partnership has contributed extensively to improving learning and skills within the District, through: facilitating collaboration and coordination between key players to plan and deliver interventions; attraction of resources to support priorities; and through managing the commissioning and targeting of resources to support specific groups and skills needs.

The Partnership has regularly revised its Strategic Learning Plan and has used this document to support its work through identifying need and priorities. The focus of the plan is learning and skills. It is intended to identify how the Learning Partnership can support individuals to increase their levels of knowledge and abilities in order to improve their economic and social circumstances. Matters relating to education are addressed through a range of other plans and associated Partnerships.
